Forum
The Who, When, Were, Why, What & How of your local Forum
• Who are we? Just local residents who are all volunteers.
• When do we meet? Normally once per month on the first Wednesday, starting at 7pm
• Where? Meetings are usually held at the recently refurbished pavilion in the park.
• Why? We are people who want to see improvements for the local residents and the area in which they live.
• What do we do? Many local events are organised by the Forum such as the Christmas Fayre, Summer Fete, Boxing Day Walk and Games Evenings to mention a few. We also look into local developments and the impact they may have on the area. Some other concerns are; Dog Fouling, Speeding Cars, Local Safety Issues and the Environment. The Forum also works with other local organisations and is actively involved with the Youth Project, Gardening club, Emlyn Development Residents group and the Local Park Re-development.
• How can you help? Even if you cannot spare time to attend meetings every month, you are able to have the meeting minutes and following months agenda sent to you by post, email or view them on the new Community News Notice board. Who knows, there may be something on the agenda you may wish to discuss.
The forum also work closely with Menter Cwm Gwendraeth who regularly help with the translation at meetings, forum minutes and with all aspects of the local community. You can reach them on 01269 871600.
As the result of a recent grant application by the forum a new Community Development Officer has been appointed for a year to help the local ward. For more information, contact Phil Owen on: 01269 841247 or 07877 737928
