The Park Committee, with the help of Menter Cwmgwendraeth, continue to search for funding to improve the park. Unfortunately some of their grant applications have failed however all has not been lost as they recently received £32,152 from the Tidy Towns initiative run by Carmarthenshire County Council. This money will improve the facilities in the park, benches, bins, picnic areas, a footpath near the pitch which will improve the facilities for those watching activities on the park and improvements to the entrance especially for pederstrians and pushchairs.

Another grant application has been submitted for around £100,000 for play equipment for older children and young people. It will be a few months before we know the outcome of this application, so fingers crossed that we will be successful this time.

Finally, thank you to the Penygroes Ward Forum who have contributed £250 towards the improvements in the park. It all helps to achieve our overall ambitious of a park fit for the 21st century.
