The first meeting of the steering group set up to move forward improvements to Penygroes park and playing fields was held on Thursday evening in Penygroes Rugby Club.  The steering group has representatives of the following community groups:

  • Children and Youth Community Group;
  • Cricket Club;
  • Junior Rugby Club;
  • Neuadd Goffa Committee;
  • Rugby Club;
  • Ward Forum;
  • Youth Club.

Representatives of organisations able to help with the development were also present.

Meetings will be held at least monthly (on the 2nd Thursday of the month).

Ian Sutton was appointed as Chairman of the group and Mark Waygood as joint Vice-Chair.  The other joint Vice-Chair was left open for a representative of the Youth Club. 

A draft report on the Consultation Day held in Neuadd Goffa in April was presented by Menter Cwm Gwendraeth.  After some discussion, each member of the steering group was asked to take the report home and draw up a list of Action Points.  At the next meeting, these will be brought together into a Draft Action Plan which will be presented at a public meeting in September.
