There was a disappointing turnout for the walking treasure hunt, despite the lovely weather on the day. Only Yvonne and Howard Watkins walked the short course and no-one tried the longer course. Many said it was a good idea and some thought they might give it a go, but clearly it didn’t have enough appeal to get anyone out.
We have lots of tubs of Mountain View Ice-cream (from Capel Isaac) available at wholesale price, if anyone wants some.

I was saddened to read about the disappointing turnout for the Walking Treasure Hunt recently.
As an active committee member I fully intended to participate and was looking forward to the ‘long walk’. However, work pressures have meant that I have been unable to attend a few of the events I had planned too.
This event was publicised on the radio and other areas so it is doubtful the poor turnout was due to ‘no-one knowing’ about it.
I can only think that because this Summers weather has been so awful and good weather at the weekends has been in short supply, that people are just making the most of the weather and doing other things that they have been trying to get done at other times.
I would be interested to hear other people’s comments as I still think this is a good idea and would like to see it organised again.

It’s a shame about the walk. I did see it advertised but other commitments meant we couldn’t attend.
if there’s any icecream still available, we would happily take some here.

It is a shame. I’m sure lots of people will be surprised at how beautiful the countryside is around here, if they give these Rights of Way a try. Perhaps we can persuade Julian to give it another go in the Spring.
We’ve still got around 20 lovely Golwg-y-mynydd ice-cream tubs left at the wholesale price of 70p. First come first served. All proceeds go to the Forum. I’d be glad if someone has them. They’re too tempting in my freezer !
