Action Points for the Development Officer
1. Ensure that the new office is suitable for purpose and is run efficiently and that the public are aware of its existence (within the first month of appointment).
2. Attend every meeting and activity of the Forum and give either a written or verbal progress report.
3. Contact the managers of the three main locations and by the end of the first month produce a timetable of events, continuing with an enlarged timetable of playing fields and all other suitable venues by the end of the second month.
4. Establish a taster day to ascertain local views, around a month after appointment.
5. Research into organisations and individuals who are prepared to run courses and activities to ascertain what is possible by the taster day.
6. Respond to the need established by setting up a minimum of two long term activities in each of the three venues and at least six one off events.
7. Develop, produce and organise distribution of the Fforum’s current bulletin. A minimum of 8 during term of office. Each bulletin will include how when and where to contact Development Officer; a timetable of events of wherever possible of all organised village events; encouragement to contact DO for more information, new ideas etc; as well as village news.
8. Using the above amassed information as Press releases for the local media, with the aim of having an article in every issue of Papur Y Cwm (10 issues a year) as well as in the Guardian, Journal, Star, Radio Cymru, Radio Carmarthenshire etc.
9. Ensuring these activities can be self sufficient and continuing after the year is up. Aim towards at least a half of all new events established are transformed into permanent happenings.
10. Ensuring at the same time that no existing activity languishes or loses momentum due to lack of support, financial difficulties etc.
