Emlyn Development Planning Applications

I’ve been asked to publish the links to the 5 planning applications submitted by Protex.  If you have an opinion on these applications, it’s important that you let the Council know.  It’ll be too late once the applications are passed.  If you need any help, call in to see me in Neuadd Goffa.

The first (E/16741) relates to moving the entrance to the Emlyn site 50m nearer to the Gorsddu Rd. junction - through the recently-built community garden.

The second (E/16742) relates to amendments to the “Phase 1″ planning application already passed, plus a new application for part of “phase 2″

The 3rd (E/16743) relates to an outline application for moving the rugby club and providing a new youth centre sometime in the future.

The 4th & 5th (E/16744 & E/16745) relate to adding another 3 years onto the time limit for developing parts of the site.

The plants for the community garden in front of Penygroes library arrived on Wednesday.  It was then all-hands-on-deck by members of Penygroes Gardening Club (and John, who called to see how it was going and stopped to help).  They had been planted out by the end of the day - ably directed by Julian, who’s been the driving force behind the garden from the beginning.

Penygroes Gardening Club have been successful in their application for £400 worth of tubs and flowers from B&Q Llanelli.  8 tubs will be provided, together with compost and summer bedding plants.  These will be placed across the Ward over the next week or two.

Gardening Club Trip

The Gardening Club went on a trip to the Malvern Show on Saturday.  We were a little worried when Jane (the Sat. Nav.) took us to a very nice house near Malvern - but nowhere near the show ground. Len stepped in & got us there only 1/2 hour late. Jane got the sack for the trip back. Len made a much better job of it.

The show was huge. We were there until nearly 6pm. I don’t think anyone saw all there was to see. The show gardens were really impressive. There were all kinds of gardening tools and gadgets. The exhibits and things for sale in the craft and food tents were good.
We stopped at a nice pub on the way back for some food.
I could go on about it for ages. Here are a few photos.
