Brilliant Evening of Wine Tasting

We had a brilliant evening last Friday (Dydd Santes Dwynwen) in the upstairs room of the Badgers, Blaenau. Carmarthenshire company Gwingar talked us through 8 different wines and how they complemented the tastes from 2 different food menus (red wine menu & white wine menu).
Caryl & Julian Tandy had worked really hard preparing the food and Eleanor did an excellent job as a waitress for the evening.

Boxing Day Walk 2007

The weather was perfect for the boxing day walk - dry and not too cold. John lead the way from the Farmers Arms, via Spien Rd., onto Maesglas Rd. & then over the top to Caerbryn. From there, it was a bit of a pull up Caerbryn Rd. and then across Penygroes Woods to reach Llandybie Rd.
It was good to see some new faces this year. Some stayed on at the Farmers to put back on some of the calories they’d burned off during the walk, but everyone enjoyed the afternoon. Perhaps someone will organise an Easter walk - any volunteers?

Gardening Club Programme 2008

The Gardening Club has started building a programme for 2008. If members would like to see something else here, please contact Julian Tandy. Non members are very welcome to join. Membership is only £2 per annum. Meetings are held in Penygroes Rugby Club, unless arranged otherwise.
Gardening Club Programme 2008
Gardening Club meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month.
Every other month has a theme or particular purpose.
Months in between are get-togethers and gardening discussion.
Anyone is welcome to join. The more members taking part, the more we can do.
29th January - Propagating and growing Geraniums.
25th March - Combined plant ordering
10th May - Trip to Malvern Show
27th May - Making hanging baskets
5th July - Penygroes Flower Show
29th July - Subject to be confirmed
30th August - Trip to Jekka McVekkas Herb Farm
30th September - Subject to be confirmed
25th November - Christmas decorations
