Report of Community Development Officer to Forum for November 2007
I’ve applied for Lottery funding for a Community Mentor to replace my job when it finishes in March.
The Forum’s Autumn Bulletin has been published and includes a questionnaire on the future direction of the Forum.  They should be delivered over the next few days. (more…)

Community Development Officer’s Monthly Report

We’ve had a couple of successes in September. 

Calfaria Baptist church obtained a £3,000 grant towards replacing the rendering on the outside of the chapel. 

The Gardening Club obtained a grant of £320 to hold an official opening of the Community Garden and TV celebrity gardener Lynne Allbutt came to open it.  We had tea and Welshcakes in the Memorial Hall afterwards. (more…)

Phil Owen’s Report for August

The Community Garden has been completed and looks lovely.  It’s surprising how peaceful it is sitting on the top seat looking past the houses to the views beyond.  We’re having an official opening on Monday 17th Sept. with Lynne Allbutt – TV presenter, horticultural specialist and media personality. The tubs of flowers have been installed.  One was stolen, but found very quickly by the Community Police.  They are adding a bit of colour around the ward, despite the bad weather.

The grant application for the woodland walk alongside Caerbryn Rd. was successful.  (more…)

Report of Community Development Officer to Forum for June 2007
June has seen some success and plenty of work on a number of projects & events.
The B&Q grant came through OK and we now have 8 tubs, plus compost and summer bedding plants to spread around the Ward.  (more…)
