This is what Wikipedia has to say about a Twmpath

Twmpath“is a word meaning a hump; once signifying the mound/ hump/ village green upon which the musicians sat and played for the community to dance. But mostly used and a verb (twmpath) to refer to a Welsh barn dance, very similar in spirit to a ceilidh or a fest-noz. The music and dances are predominantly Welsh, but Breton styles are often played as well because of the close cultural and linguistic links between Brittany and Wales.

To take part in a TWMPATH,  dancing to Rattlin’ Bog, along with some nice food and drink, contact Phil Owen at the Forum Office to get your ticket.

Phil Owen’s Report for August

The Community Garden has been completed and looks lovely.  It’s surprising how peaceful it is sitting on the top seat looking past the houses to the views beyond.  We’re having an official opening on Monday 17th Sept. with Lynne Allbutt – TV presenter, horticultural specialist and media personality. B in the Park

The “B” in the park event in Penygroes Playing fields went down well.  Lots of young people from across the Ward and beyond came to have a go on the climbing wall, inflatable assault course and other attractions.  The weather stayed fine.  Thanks to Carmarthenshire County Council staff and Cindy and Alana, our youth workers, for setting up the event.
