Penygroes Community News

The application to move the main entrance to the Emlyn development by 50 yards and therefore to destroy the new community garden is coming before the planning committee this Thursday - with a recommendation from planning officers to grant the appication. 

The application to develop over 80 houses and apartments on a small area of the site off Gorsddu rd. is also being considered.  The link to applications on the Council’s website are below.  If you want a lift to the planning meeting on Thursday morning, contact Phil Owen - 07768 152154.

Matters Arising
•    Siân Thomas will be happy to be the moderator on the Penygroes Ward Welsh Community Site.
•    The clean-up week starts form Monday 9th July.  There will be road clearing in Tumble and Pontyates.  Lots of events are organized and local schools are getting involved.  It would be helpful if everyone could give up just an hour of their time.
•    There will be a litterpick along Caerbryn Road at 5pm on Wednesday 11th July. (more…)

Matters Arising

•    ‘Clean up week’ starts 9th July.  Organisation forms are available from Menter Cwm Gwendraeth.  We will need to inform the press.  Teen challenge may be involved.
•    How many people have used the new community web site?  It would be a good idea to try using the English site first.  The Welsh version is to be started shortly but will need help with translation.  Huw may be able to help but it will probably require more than one person to assist.  We will need a moderator for the Welsh site, would Siân Thomas be happy to do this?
