A Strawberry Tea event was held in Neuadd Goffa on Saturday afternoon. Over 60 people enjoyed the strawberries, cream, meringues and chocolate. There was a cake stall, a bric-a-brac stall and plant stall.
The strawberry & marshmallow kebabs covered in chocolate went down well, although it was hard to eat them without getting chocolate on your nose.
The first meeting of the steering group set up to move forward improvements to Penygroes park and playing fields was held on Thursday evening in Penygroes Rugby Club. The steering group has representatives of the following community groups:
- Children and Youth Community Group;
- Cricket Club;
- Junior Rugby Club;
- Neuadd Goffa Committee;
- Rugby Club;
- Ward Forum;
- Youth Club.

The plants for the community garden in front of Penygroes library arrived on Wednesday. It was then all-hands-on-deck by members of Penygroes Gardening Club (and John, who called to see how it was going and stopped to help). They had been planted out by the end of the day - ably directed by Julian, who’s been the driving force behind the garden from the beginning.


Protex’s latest planning applications for development of the Emlyn site are on-line on the Carmarthenshire County Council website. I’ve copied some and they are in the entrance of Neuadd Goffa. You can comment directly on-line or come to the next Forum meeting and we’ll put in a co-ordinated response.
The Apostolic Church invites you to an evening with the girls from Teen Challenge on Sunday 15th July at 6.00 pm at the Temple, Penygroes. There will be acting, singing and dancing
