Introduction Cross Hands has a great deal to offer if you know where to look but because of its association with Leekes,  most people don’t tend to explore further.  In fact, if you know where to look you can get almost anything you need here.  Although there is a wealth of shopping facilities around Cross Hands, no community can exist with just shops.  I have tried to include (as illustrated below), just how much more there is here to help service the local area.

Useful Information This section of the Cross hands life website is devoted to bringing you useful information on schools, colleges, creches in your local area.  Need to travel by train or bus?, then there are timetables for you. If you are in need of a important or useful number, then it’s probably listed here as well as web links to most of the major companies, utilities and important official bodies you could need.

Useful Websites As so much of our lives is now carried out on the Internet, this is the section where you will find important and useful website links. Often it is easier and more convenient to contact an organisation via their website than it is by any other method.   If you know of any other websites that are worth including then please contact us by email.

Motoring: Do you need to find someone who can repair your car?  Then in this section you will find garages, car repairs, tyres, exhaust centres, body repairs, MOT centres and petrol stations.

Eating out has become very popular in recent years and this section (including entertainment) can supply you with pubs, restaurants, cafe’s, takeaways and clubs, all in your local area, with names addresses and phone numbers.

The Beauty & Fitness section includes all those places that can make us look and feel good, from Beauty Parlours, Tanning Salons and Hair Salons to Gymnasiums.

The Finance and Insurance section includes banks, general insurance companies, financial advisors and mortgage consultants.

Estate Agents, Solicitors and Surveyors:  This is the latest section that deals with all aspects of buying and selling a property.

Places to Stay: This is a new section for b&b, hotels, camp and caravan sites local to the area.

Useful Information

Health and Medical: Health and medical facilities (and alternative therapies) in the area.  This section includes Pharmacies, Chiropractors, dentists and many more.

Places of Interest: There are a large number of castles, parks and gardens locally; in fact you will be surprised when you take a look.

Schools and Colleges: If you are not sure about what schools, colleges and creches are available, well this section will give you all the facts you need.

Transport and Travel: owing to the complexity of travel options (and changes to timetables), this section is comprised of links to the bus and rail companies etc. that provide the services.

Useful Numbers: Useful and important phone numbers from utility companies to organisations like the samaritans.  Most are here, please contact support if you think there are others we can add.

Useful Websites: As with the useful phone numbers, this section comprises of direct links to websites that are useful in everyday life.

Shopping

This section is being completely re-built from scratch.  The likes of Garems, Richleys and Hypa-Xtra are just a few examples of recent casualties of the recession.  More to come on this.

Business and Work

In the Business and Worksection, there are business services including, accountants, web design, graphic design, software solutions, printers, IT Services and Business Consultants, all based locally in the Cross Hands Area.  A new section within this will be catering to those people that work from home, whether for a company or self-employed.
